The island is home to forty seven contemporary style villas & residences either over-water or beach located, all with a private pool. At one with nature, each is built using local materials, combining contemporary flourishes with interiors designed for sensory exploration. Some residences can accommodate up to ten people making it ideal for larger family groups.
Each of the 3 restaurants offer an extraordinary and different setting. Aragu, the overwater signature restaurant offers modern European cuisine with an Asian twist. Tavaru, one of the highest restaurants in a Maldivian resort, serves a refined degustation celebrating Teppanyaki grill cuisine. Athiri dishes up fine dining international fayre and allows diners to enjoy their meal al fresco on the sand. With its own mixologist and live DJ, Avi is a casual pool bar by day and a vibrant cocktail bar by night.
Snorkeling and scuba diving are available in the protected house reef and the island also boasts a luxurious over-water spa, well equiped fitness centre, extensive watersports options, squash & tennis courts as well as a superb Kids' Club. Unusual for the Maldives, Velaa offers its own private Golf Academy and short course, designed by Jose Maria Olazabal.
