Wilderness Bisate is located in the natural amphitheatre of an eroded volcanic cone and has dramatic views of the peaks of the volcanoes, Bisoke and Karisimbi, rearing up through the Afro-alpine forests of nearby Volcanoes National Park.
Like giant birds’ nests tucked into the trees, the six Forest Villas that make up Wilderness Bisate at Volcanoes National Park are simply breath-taking. And arguably the finest base in Africa from which to trek to see the famous mountain gorillas of the Virungas.
Bisate’s vegetable garden is an ecosystem intended to be sustainable and self-sufficient. The menu comprises seasonal ingredients for freshness, the majority of which are from it's own garden. They also support the communities already growing crops, and source red-skinned and wonderfully starchy potatoes, as well as it's own eggs, organic and free range, from it's neighbours.
A wine cellar, library, spa, and tree nursery, woven through with warm hospitality complete this natural wonder.
