The Ritz-Carlton, Masai Mara Safari Camp
Nestled in the Sand River region of the Masai Mara, along the Kenya-Tanzania border, this treetop Safari Camp offers unrivaled views of the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem. Overlooking the Sand River, this location immerses you in nature’s raw beauty.
The Ritz‑Carlton, Masai Mara Safari Camp marks the debut of this iconic brand’s first-ever safari experience, nestled in the heart of Kenya’s famed Masai Mara National Reserve. Perched on a secluded island in the Sand River near the Tanzania border, the camp offers unrivaled views of the Great Migration and year-round wildlife, including the Big Five and over 500 bird species.
Accommodations comprise 20 luxuriously tented suites (including a four‑bedroom presidential suite), each designed as an elevated treetop retreat. Guest retreats feature indoor and outdoor showers, private sunken lounges, expansive decks with infinity plunge pools, and dedicated Maasai butler service—known as “Encholiek,” meaning “one who walks with you” . The presidential suite offers a family‑style living area, private dining, and kitchenette.
Dining is a curated gastronomic journey across several venues. The main restaurant, “The Nest,” boasts a multi‑cuisine kitchen and private wine cellar with sommelier-led tastings. Under the stars, guests dine on the sky deck or around a fire in the authentic Boma, enjoying Masai cultural performances and traditional fare like nyama choma. Unique experiences include champagne bush breakfasts, intimate in‑suite meals, sundowners in the wild, and cellar chef’s‑table events.
Facilities & Activities span wellness, adventure, cultural immersion, and conservation-driven experiences. On-site amenities include a spa and wellness center, outdoor gym, heated swimming pool with savannah views, a photography studio, and a map room. Included activities feature twice-daily private game drives in open-air Land Cruisers, guided bush walks, balloon safaris with champagne breakfasts, birdwatching, and visits to the Kenya–Tanzania Border Stone. Cultural encounters include “The Call of Dusk” ritual—complete with a Maasai horn, storytelling, dance, and ceremonial blessings—as well as village visits and craft workshops.
