ITINERARY

Day 1

Hanoi arrival

Upon arrival at Hanoi - Noi Bai airport and after the immigration procedures you will be met by your tour guide for a 40-min private transfer to the hotel.

Day 2

In Hanoi

Half Day Hanoi at a Glance 08.00 – 12.00

Set off the trip with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a remarkable construction where Vietnamese people express their profound love and gratitude to the great leader. Then stroll around the serene grounds while learning about Ho Chi Minh’s life and legacy. There is an option to visit the nearby iconic One Pillar Pagoda, built in 1049. Continue to the Temple of Literature, a serene retreat from the busy streets outside. It is known as the first national university in Vietnam and the symbol of Vietnamese architectural values. Cap off the trip strolling through the labyrinthine alleyways of the Old Quarters. This oldest continuously developed area of Hanoi was once an important centre of commerce where goods were sold on the street name of a particular guild. Stop at a roadside coffee shop, mingle with the locals and enjoy the daily life passing by.

Half Day Vibrant Street Food Scene 16.30 – 20.00

Hanoi is a paradise for lovers of street food and the city’s best dishes can be found on its bustling sidewalks, where the air is filled with the aroma of lemongrass, chili, cilantro, and other fresh herbs. Your guide will offer you insights into the intricacies and traditions of Vietnamese food culture, including details about the ingredients and historical backgrounds of popular northern dishes.

Day 3

Board Orchid Premium cruise

09:00 - meet your guide in the hotel lobby and take a 2.5-hour drive from Hanoi to Tuan Chau jetty for your Halong Overnight trip. Enjoy the UNESCO World Heritage site with a dense concentration of limestone islands, caves and grottos, and magnificent scenery. Upon arrival at the jetty, proceed with check-in formalities around noon before being welcomed aboard. You will be served lunch while cruising the tranquil waters and will have plenty of time to take in the magnificent seascape of Halong Bay. During your cruise you will be able to enjoy activities either this afternoon or the following morning to explore caves and grottos, visit pearl farms, or take in picturesque island beaches. After sunset, enjoy a Vietnamese cooking demonstration before enjoying a delicious dinner. At the end of the day set anchor for the night among the karst formations.

Day 4

Flight to Hue

Enjoy another morning either with a Tai Chi session to welcome the day or simply taking time to contemplate the magnificence of your surroundings. Breakfast is served while you enjoy cruising back to port. Disembark and bid farewell to the friendly crew.

Upon arrival at Hue - Phu Bai airport, on arrival you will be met by your tour guide and driver for a 30- min private transfer to the hotel in the city center. The ancient Hue is on the bank of the Perfume River and used to be the political center of Vietnam under the Nguyen Dynasty.

Day 5

Half Day Thanh Toan Village by Bike 08.00-12.00

Besides the outstanding historic landmarks like royal citadel, imperial tombs and ancient pagodas, Hue offer peaceful countryside resting a number of traditional villages. Discover Thanh Toan village by cycling to gain a unique insight into local life as well as the well preserved tile roofed bridge. Today’s half day cycling tour affords the opportunity to explore the rural countryside surrounding Hue.

Evening Foodie and Cyclo tour 18.00-21.00

Discover Hue’s simple night life and the food safari through a fun cyclo trip. Warm up with a welcome drink and light finger food at a rustic cozy bar. You will be given some basic introduction about Hue cuisine, as well as taught about some survival Vietnamese words before moving to a vegetarian restaurant, where you can see Buddhist traditions imprinted in Hue’s food art.

Day 6

Hoi An arrival

After check-out time at 12:00, our guide will pick up and transfer you to Hoi An. The drive takes around 3.5 hours.

Half Day Hoi An Family Fun 14.00 – 17.00

These family bonding activities will bring your family together and build more cohesion – often while having fun. Start the day with a leisure walk through the vibrant and lively ancient town. This UNESCO World Heritage-listed old town is ideal for exploring on foot. Discover beautifully preserved merchant houses and the iconic 400-year-old Japanese Bridge. Walk further to a long-established workshop where your artisan is awaiting. Roll up your sleeves, play with colours and start painting local folklore masks under his guidance. Plus other activities.

Evening Walking Food Tour 17:00 – 21:00

Hoi An is known for simple yet delicious street food. Wander through the hidden alleyways and learn about the daily lifestyle of Hoian people through its cuisine. The town is a melting pot of cultures, which has influenced its cuisine. The strong influence of Chinese cuisine, which is guided by the forces of Yin and Yang. The French, Japanese and Indians also contributed to the town’s unique. Mingle with locals over street beer, grilled meats skewers, hotpot and French inherited dessert.

Day 11

Flight to Ho Chi Minh city

Your guide will pick up and transfer you to Da Nang airport for your flight to Saigon.

Upon arrival at Saigon - Tan Son Nhat airport, on arrival your tour guide will meet you for a 30-min transfer to the hotel in city center. Saigon is the largest city, business and financial hub of Vietnam. It has a prominent history going back hundreds of years and still has classic colonial architecture.

Day 12

Full Day Underground City and Modern Metropolis

Synonymous with the Vietnam War and a testament to the determined spirit of the Vietnamese, the underground network of passages at Cu Chi is a fascinating day trip out of the city. Work on the tunnels began during the war against the French in the 1940s and over the next 25 years as the conflict with America escalated, they were improved and expanded to create an underground city of meeting areas, storerooms, living quarters and much more. After 1,5-hour drive from Saigon, upon arrival, there is the option to go below the surface and visit sections of the tunnels first hand. 

Return to city for lunch at a local restaurant. Starting the city tour with a visit to the historic former Presidential Palace. Take a walk along Book Street, passing by the Notre Dame Cathedral, and stop by one of the local stands to purchase a Saigon postcard. Then visit the colonial-era Post Office, featuring classic Gothic, Renaissance, and French colonial designs. Take the opportunity to admire the stunning architecture of a bygone era and send a postcard to your family back home. (Stamp and postcard are included). Next, either walk or drive to the War Remnants Museum, primarily focuses on the Vietnam War but also showcases exhibits dating back to the French colonialist period and the first Indochina War. For those who are not interested in war relics, the Fine Arts Museum boasts a beautiful collection of ancient and modern art and sculptures. Return to the hotel or if time permits, choose to be dropped off at Ben Thanh market for personal exploration and souvenir hunting.

Day 13

Ben Tre tour

Around 7.30 am, meet with your tour guide for a 2.5-hour drive to Ben Tre to experience the lush countryside of the Mekong area with tranquil river landscapes, and the warmth of its people. The riverside promenade and the narrow lanes on both sides of the river are ideal for two-wheeled exploration if you are a cycling lover.

Ben Tre owns the largest coconut-growing area in the country, if you’re lucky, you may witness the fascinating process of coconut peeling. Then get on Lan Thanh’s motorized boat for a cruise along the main river for an insight into agriculture-river life. Enjoy a motor-tricycle ride onward to a rustic local restaurant for lunch with Mekong Delta specialties.

Day 14

Departure

Depending on the flight time, our guide will pick up and transfer you to airport for your flight back home.
