ITINERARY

Day 1

Melbourne Arrival 

You will be greeted by your local guide at Melbourne airport who will navigate you effortlessly to the comfort of an awaiting luxury vehicle then on to your hotel. The journey to the city centre provides the perfect opportunity to discover everything about the city - from the historical foundations of Melbourne through to current exhibitions or the must-attend events. Check in to your hotel, take the opportunity to freshen up then join your guide on a tailored tour that will serve as the perfect orientation to the city. Designed entirely around your interests, your orientation tour may include an exploration of Melbourne’s labyrinth of laneways and arcades, while collecting recommendations on hidden-bars and restaurants. Perhaps grab a Melbourne “flat white” coffee and try a pastry at a bustling inner-city market or iconic café, or perhaps stretch your legs with a stroll through the stunning Royal Botanic Gardens - the experiences are endless. On conclusion of the tour you will be transferred to your accommodation.

Day 2

Mornington Peninsula

Today you will be met at your accommodation by your private guide and vehicle for your tour to the Mornington Peninsula. Start your day with a visit to the spectacular coastal boardwalks at Cape Schanck. Offering aweinspiring vistas of the rugged coast, watch as waves pound the dramatically shaped Pulpit Rock. Your guides intimate knowledge of the area puts them in the perfect position to introduce you to the Mornington Peninsula’s finest producers. Experience behind the scenes at one of the region’s thriving vineyards and sample some of its most exciting and creative wine varietals. Settle in for lunch at one of the peninsula’s many esteemed restaurants while enjoying picture-perfect views over undulating vineyards at either Port Phillip Estate or Montalto. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon and choose from the many options, from walks taking in coastal splendour and quaint seaside towns, to wildlife experiences or artisanal offerings.

Day 3

FREYCINET NATIONAL PARK Arrival

Today you will be met at your accommodation by your private driver and vehicle and transferred to Melbourne Airport for your onward flight. Fly Melbourne to Hobart. On arrival at Hobart Airport you will be met by your private driver and vehicle and transferred to your accommodation in Coles Bay (approximately a 2 hour 30 minute journey). On arrival you will be met by a representative of the lodge for an introduction to your Freycinet experience. During your stay at Saffire Freycinet touring options specified below are available, but do not always operate daily. The Lodge will confirm your program on arrival.

Day 4 - 5

Day 6

Adelaide Arrival

Today you will be met at your accommodation by your private driver and vehicle and transferred to Hobart Airport (approximately a 2 hour 30 minute journey) for your onward flight. Fly Hobart to Adelaide (cost not included) On arrival at Adelaide Airport you will be met by your private driver and vehicle and transferred to your accommodation in Adelaide Hills (approximately a 1 hour journey).

Day 7

Barossa Valley tour

This morning you will be met at your accommodation by your private guide and vehicle for your VIP Barossa Valley tour. Spend a day uncovering the secrets of the Barossa Valley, one of the world’s greatest wine regions, on a privately guided tour that includes visits to some of the premier cellar doors and tasting rooms of this beautiful corner of South Australia. Begin the morning at Torbreck’s The Laird Vineyard, one of the most iconic single vineyard sites in Australia and one of the jewels in the Barossa’s crown, followed by a tour and private tasting at Elderton Wines, a boutique vineyard and cellar door in Nuriootpa that dates back to 1894. From here, you will move on to the Torbreck Estate for a winery tour, barrel tasting and private cellar door tasting amongst some of the finest vineyards in the country. Lunch will be enjoyed at Vintners Restaurant in Angaston, a contemporary restaurant and grill where you will enjoy a delicious two course lunch with matched wine pairings. This afternoon, you will spend time at the unique Henschke Wines, enjoying a privately hosted tour of Hill of Grace vineyard, walking amongst the ancient vines that date back to the 1860s and learning about the family’s 150 years of winemaking. Visit the cellars and sample 10 of the estate’s own vintages in a private tasting, before being transferred back to Adelaide.

Day 8

Lord Howe Island Arrival

Today you will be met at your accommodation by your private driver and vehicle and transferred to Adelaide Airport for your onward flight (approximately a 1 hour journey). Fly Adelaide to Lord Howe Island (cost not included) On arrival at Lord Howe Island Airport you will be met by a representative of the lodge and transferred to your accommodation for an introduction to your island experience.

Day 9 - 11

Lord Howe Island

While at leisure on Lord Howe Island we suggest the following activities:

- Play a round of Tennis or Golf on a nine-hole ocean view course

- Enjoy a bike ride around the island

- Join a glass bottom boat tour and view the marine life

- Climb Mount Gower and be rewarded with sweeping views of the island

- Enjoy the opportunity to feed the fish or snorkel along the abundance of marine life at Ned's Beach

- Join a tour to explore the North Bay

- Be adventurous by joining the many water activities including scuba diving, surfing and sind surfing

- Join a cruise to explore the island region or hire a kayak to explore the sheltered waters of Lord Howe

Island's lagoon

- Take a tour across a deep sea trench to Balls Pyramid, World's Highest Volcanic rock stack

- Enjoy a day playing Lawn bowls

- Visit the island museum

Day 12

Sydney Arrival

Today you will be met by a representative of the lodge and transferred to Lord Howe Island Airport for your onward flight. On arrival at Sydney Airport you will be met by your private driver and vehicle and transferred to your accommodation.

Day 13

Sydney Day Tour

Today you will be met at your accommodation by your private guide and vehicle for a full day tour of Sydney.

Begin your day with a 3-hour harbour cruise taking in some of Sydney’s most iconic landmarks aboard a private luxury motor cruiser. Travel within metres of the Sydney Opera House with views back to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Enjoy your local guide’s insights into this fascinating city – its sights, history and local characters. Make your way east past Woolloomooloo, Garden Island, and the exclusive Eastern suburbs and see some magnificent Sydney waterfront properties and celebrity homes.

Cross the harbour to Chowder Bay and cruise past Taronga Zoo before stopping for a relaxed lunch, which will include an assortment of fresh local seafood, some indigenous flavoured tastings and a selection of meats, salads, cheeses and a dessert. This is accompanied by a selection of local wines and beers.

Return to the marina and board your luxury tour vehicle for a sightseeing tour of Sydney. Wind your way through the streets of Sydney’s exclusive Eastern suburbs and visit some beautiful Harbourside beaches and bays; stop at Vaucluse House to see an example of Sydney’s colonial architecture and the pretty gardens of former governors. At Watsons Bay explore the ocean side of South Head called “The Gap”, close to the entrance to Sydney Harbour. There are dramatic cliff views from this location and amazing views back to the city.

Then make your way to one of Australia’s most famous beaches, Bondi. Here you may take some time to enjoy a short coast walk or venture onto the white sands of Bondi Beach and dip your toes in the ocean.

Your tour continues to the fashionable suburb of Paddington where you travel down some of Sydney’s historic laneways and get a glimpse of the trendy high fashion stores, private art galleries and an array of old world pubs.

Day 14

Sydney at Lesuire

While at leisure in Sydney we suggest the following optional activities:

- Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge for spectacular panoramic views

- Catch a performance at the Sydney Opera House or enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour beneath its iconic sails

- Join a guided cycling tour of the Sydney waterfront, its parklands and beautiful Botanic Gardens

- Take to the skies in a seaplane to enjoy a bird’s eye view of the city and its coastline (or let them fly you to lunch at a waterside table in one of Sydney’s beautiful national parks)

- Learn to surf on Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach (or let us introduce you to one of the world’s surfing legends with a private lesson in Manly)

- Stretch your legs with a guided walk through Sydney’s harbourside national parks and enjoy lunch a local’s private home or follow the stunning coastal walk from Bondi to Bronte and reward yourself with a flat-white (coffee)

- Enjoy some retail therapy in the city’s boutiques, arcades and malls, or explore a little further to the stylish streets of Paddington (the Intersection at Glenmore Road is a who’s who of Australian fashion and the Saturday markets are a great place to pick up a few unique Australian mementos)

- Explore Sydney’s public and private galleries to see ancient indigenous works and thought provoking contemporary art

- Enjoy fine dining at one of the world’s best restaurants or a relaxing beachside picnic to sample fresh Australian produce and the Sydney way of life

- Wander the cobbled laneways of the historic Rocks precinct to uncover Sydney’s convict and colonial past
