ARRIVAL

Upon arrival in Anchorage, your driver will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. Nestled in a lush valley surrounded by mountain peaks, hanging glaciers, and spectacular ocean views, Hotel Alyeska offers luxury and convenient access to the magnificent Alaskan wilderness.

GLACIER EXCURSION

This morning, your driver-guide will pick you up at your hotel to take you on an epic small group hike on Matanuska Glacier! At 27 miles long by 4 miles wide, Matanuska Glacier is the largest accessible glacier in the United States.

En route to the glacier, your guide will provide interpretation of the area, sharing information about the flora and fauna and making stops to allow you to take incredible photos of Alaska's natural beauty. Upon arriving at the glacier, your guide will outfit you with ice cleats, safety gear, and a trekking pole then lead you out on to the ice! Walk into caves, step over crevasses, and take photos as you get an up-close look at this glacier’s magnificent size.

There’s nothing that can prepare you for what it’s like to walk on a glacier. The crunching of ice beneath your feet, the endless deep blue crevasses, the cracking of settling ice, and the echoing booms of rocks dropping into bottomless holes – it’s beautiful, it’s surreal, and it’s incredible!

TURNAGAIN ARM

This morning, your naturalist driver/guide will pick you up from Hotel Alyeska to take you to explore Turnagain Arm, one of the most beautiful stretches of highway in America. From Chugach State Park to scenic hikes and wildlife viewing, this dramatic drive is full of things to see and do.

Your adventure begins with a visit to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (AWCC). The center is a sanctuary dedicated to preserving Alaska's wildlife through conservation, education, research, and quality animal care. Your guide will join you on a walk around the facility to see bear, wolves, bison, muskox, moose, and more.

Once you have an introduction to Alaska wildlife, you'll pause in Girdwood to enjoy lunch at a local establishment, and then you'll set out on the scenic drive. Your guide will recommend short hikes and take you to scenic vistas to take in the beauty of the region while searching for animals in the wild.

After the tour you will be transferred to the airport to go to your next accommodation Stillpoint Lodge.

 BEAR VIEWING

Today, enjoy an amazing opportunity to explore the most populated wild habitat of Alaska brown bears on an epic flightseeing adventure!

Your day will start with a water taxi to Homer, where a car will be waiting to transfer you to the Homer Airport to board your aircraft. On the flight over, you'll fly past some of the most jaw-dropping and dramatic scenery in Alaska. You'll have the opportunity to see active volcanoes, giant glaciers, and maybe even whales in the water below.

Upon landing on a remote beach, you'll walk along the same trails as the bears do, sit on the same riverbanks as they do, and observe them as they go about their day-to-day life. There are no barriers, fences, or platforms separating you from the bears and other wildlife. Depending on the time of year, you can see bears grazing on sedge grass, digging up clams, playing together, courting, resting, or fishing.

At the end of your excursion, you'll fly back to the airport where you'll take a water taxi back to your accommodation.

HELICOPTER ADVENTURE

This morning, take to the skies for a wildlife safari by helicopter with landing on a remote glacier!

For this thrilling 2-hour adventure, you'll meet your pilot for a safety briefing then depart for incredible aerial sightseeing. With a vantage point high above the tree line, you'll enjoy fantastic views of the expansive ice field, rugged mountains, and cascading waterfalls. Along the journey, you'll be able to look for wildlife such as black bear, moose, and more. Finally, you'll land on a stunning glacier and have time to walk around and explore before returning to the lodge.

FROM ICE TO FIRE

Today, you will be transferred to Anchorage for your flight to Hawaii’s Big Island.

BIG ISLAND FROM ABOVE

This morning is for you to take at leisure and enjoy the many amenities your luxurious hotel has to offer.

In the afternoon, you will take an incredible 2-hour flightseeing tour by private helicopter around the entire island of Hawaii for the adventure of a lifetime! Enjoy a bird's eye view from the Kona coffee district to the slopes of Mauna Loa volcano. Your pilot will take you to one of the few green sand beaches in the world and point out various points of interest on this incredible journey. You'll see the world's most active volcano, fly over a crater, soar passed countless waterfalls, and enjoy incredible views of the island's lush landscapes and sandy beaches.

At the end of your flight, your pilot will land at the hotels helipad.

 A NIGHT UNDER THE STARS

Today will be yours to spend at your leisure, relax, and take advantage of your hotel's luxurious amenities.

Later in the afternoon, your driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel to take you a on a breathtaking sunset and stargazing adventure atop mount Mauna Kea! On this adventure, your guide will make stops along the way to the top to allow time to acclimatize and witness the dramatic diversity of the big island's landscape. After acclimatizing, you'll attempt the summit for a chance to witness a sensational sunset amid the largest collection of telescopes on earth.

Once daylight fades, your guide will take you to a lower elevation for a stargazing experience.

A VOLCANO ADVENTURE

This morning you will go on a 3-hour adventure with your private volcanologist guide. Your guide will meet you at the visitor center and join you in your vehicle and together you will go off to explore the park. The ongoing eruptions of Kilauea Volcano and the periodic eruptions of Mauna Loa offer opportunities to witness the formation of an array of astounding geologic features, including new cinder cones, glowing pit craters, rivers of lava, and fountains of spatter.

Your volcanologist will explain how the Big Island consists of five volcanoes that are part of a volcanic chain of islands, created over a 70-million-year period by the northwestward movement of the ocean floor over a fixed hot spot in the earth’s mantle. Molten rock rising from this hot spot, about 60 to 70 miles beneath the ocean floor, is currently fueling the continuous eruptions of Kilauea Volcano within the park.

After your tour, you will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight to Maui.

RELAXATION AND LUAU

Today, relax at your beautiful resort or to head to the beach for sea and sun adventures.

In the evening, your driver will pick you up and take you to the West Side of Maui for an authentic Hawaiian luau. A luau is a traditional Hawaiian party usually accompanied by vibrant entertainment and delicious, traditional food such as poi, kalua pig, poke, lomi salmon, opihi, haupia, and beer. Of course, the luau would not be complete without traditional Hawaiian music and hula!

When you arrive for the luau, you will be greeted with a fresh flower lei and shown to your own private table. A multi-course dinner inspired by the culture and traditions of Polynesia will be served. Each course represents a modern twist on traditional island cuisine. For many visitors the highlight of a Maui luau is the amazing Samoan fire knife dance. Brave performers will treat you to death defying feats of astonishing dexterity as they pass the flaming knife through their legs and behind their backs, giving you a perfect sen- off for the evening!

ROAD TO HANA

This morning, your private driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel to take you on an exciting full-day trip on the Road to Hana. Your passionate local guide will introduce you to the locals who make Maui unique, while sharing highlights on the journey that will reveal the beauty of the island.

DEPARTURE

In the morning, after breakfast, drive to the airport to begin your journey home.
